All my established accounts now require id

Amazon is now requesting ID on all my established EU accounts. This looks the end of multiple ghost accounts in the UK.

Bad to hear - how did they inform you they need ID, via message in seller dash? Are they just needing UK PP or all business details?

It appears where normally you are informed that account is suspended on the front page of Seller Central. All business details are required. Same as opening a new UK seller account.

Hasn't this been around for awhile? In the USA they require 1099 form

@yomanholy

Started a while ago for amazon across the pond from the USA.

New variations all the time to run amazon accounts.

I knew that they are gonna ask for ID sooner or later. Micky kindly let us all know how you gonna sort this out. It will be helpful for us all.
Thanks

Not everyone has a passport regardless of country.

What is the age of your account though?

aleen 05-12-2014 08:45 AM

Re: All my established accounts now require id

A guy has reported on seller Central forum and his account is 6 months old. He provided passport details and now they need 6-10 days to verify it.

are you VAT registered? seems to be more of a VAT thing. there's lots of foreign sellers who come sell in Europe and not pay VAT. Fba makes it easier than ever before, and the sales are profit from stealing the government. EU is pushing on Amazon I assume.

The requirement is nothing to do with VAT.

It is down to EU money laundering regulations.

Amazon is certainly not a company that bothers too much with regards to tax matters. ;)

Re: All my established accounts now require id

As said above, its all down to EU banking regulations. Maybe I am unlucky being on of the early accounts in this cull (high sales), but it will happen with all EU accounts over time. Accounts are now being verified.

Are you not able to supply a drivers license and utility bill instead of a passport..?

This is option is available when creating new accounts.

I cant see how Amazon expects everyone to have a passport. Therefore it makes sense that they offer multiple ways in which we can verify accounts.

This seems the case for UK currently with the passport only option...odd choice

..? Im slightly confused . When I create all my new pro stealth accounts I choose the option to use a UK drivers license, and tick the box which appears to confirm I don't have a UK passport. I also tick the box agreeing I can provide a utility bill on request.

None of new pro accounts have ever asked for the ID ( Touch Wood).

Can some please explain what all the fuss is about...?

I have sold and I have had disbursements . Im guessing if this do ask for ID it will be a drivers license and utility bill as this is what i have said I can provide.

Am I missing something..?

Re: All my established accounts now require id

nope guess you got to just keep selling and see what happens seems to be abit random, some people all accounts are requesting the ID/utility bill

then there others that seem fine!!

Or are you guys just gonna photoshop is ''The Great Escape'' style? :bounce:

Are you registered as a business?

Is there anyone who is registered as individual seller/plan on European Amazon, and did they ask you for photo ID, bills, etc. or just micro payment & address verification/confirmation ?
