Well, there isn't quite a "formula" to create a long lasting amazon seller account. If there is, please point me in the right direction.
Recently, I've run several seller accounts and one by one, they have each been requested for ID verification or suspended without explanation.
I've run THREE* successful seller accounts and below is detail on how they came about. *one of them is a Canadian AZ account.
Started by selling blu-rays and apple lightning cables (2012). Sold a lot of them and quickly got the account review. Two days later, they allowed me to continue selling. About a month later, I went into Prime and started to ship massive blu-rays out to their warehouses. All was gravy. Still was selling those lightning cables at the same time (non-prime) and hit a road of unsatisfied customers. That got my account suspended for about a week. I sent an appeal in and they decided to lift the suspension! I've had multiple listing policy violations in the past two years (4 or 5) and every time I got suspended, I appealed and got back on. This week was the last straw...they got to me and I'm suspended forever.
From what I take from that account, you need to interact with Amazon in a meaningful way--meaning you use their available tools and don't worry about the quantity of the sales. You need the feedback.
Second account (was running along with first account)--also sold the lightning cables until the account review and passed that with flying colors. Seriously? Selling on amazon seems easy. I ran into a batch of defective cables and overextended. A bunch of refunds and resulted in a perm suspension.
Third account (Canada)--still operating. It was an extension of account #1 and still hasn't been shut down yet. Probably because it's another country.
Now, I've been trying to replicate the success I've had in the past, but to call it a hurdle is an understatement.
My best tip is to keep your EIN's/business info handy because you will have a successful seller account soon enough. When that comes about, you want to have your info ready.
How to get to that success? Create as many as possible and see what sticks. That's what brings to me to my next point. In order to run 10, 20, 30 amazon accounts concurrently, you need product that is going to sell (like lightning cables in 2012). It's hard to find that now! We have to work together to get these "feedback generating" items in a list to keep the sales rotation going. Together, we can crack the code...
Feel free to add your successful amazon seller account stories including the items that you sold, how long you sold each for before moving into the next product, and how fast you've been selling them for.

Well, I don't sell that much unfortunately.
I am focusing on limited edition items, so it's really a gamble. I am not drop shipping anything because most of the items I sell, are sold out soon, so I have to buy everything in advance. And sometimes, the products don't sell..
I wouldn't know what else to sell.
I was thinking about using Chinese web shops as drop shippers, but I don't think that's a smart thing to do. They are usually very slow (1 month+) with delivery.

The purpose of this thread it to get some items that sell out quickly, but the profit doesn't have to be as great. It just needs to be a product that 'bypass' amazon's quick suspension trigger.
Have you tried selling your ltd ed. items on other accounts with success (the account went through review and passed)?
tbh, "I wouldn't know what to sell" is a waste of time, effort and space. If you think hard enough and look hard enough, you'll find something attractive to sell. That being said, the product 8 out of 10 times is not going to be sellable on amazon right off the bat. Which ties this back to the main topic: How to generate SAFE feedback on the amazon marketplace.
because once you're in the door, you're treated with a lot of respect as a seller. You can pull off selling almost anything at least for a little while

Well, I have good feedback and I never refuse anything to complaining customers... Causes some losses sometimes, but I'd like to play it safe. | |

With amazon customers you need to watch it closely if customer complain they didnt get item they can get instant refund even if they will receive item.
Amz simply doesnt care . Customer is always right.
Sell small cheap items . Avoid expensive stuff .
I lost lots of money on smartphones as they break deadly fast. Customers espec in germany want everything for free ...

Just a hunch, but feedback is like gold on Amazon, so it might be worth trying to make this work.

If you keep getting taken down...either your setup is faulty or perhaps listing same things? Risky?

You can change your methods around somewhat to see if it helps you, evicktd. http://www.aspkin.com/forums/amazon-...back-15-a.html
Have you looked to 'see' what are hot sellers on amazon & purchase accordingly? That's a tip I picked up from here.
