Amazon inventory and 90 day rule
 

Hello,

I'm aware that Amazon may use inventory items as a way to link new accounts with old suspended accounts, and it's been recommended in the forum to aim for a 1:5 / 1:10 ratio of old to new products.

However, people in the forum also argued Amazon only goes back as far as 90 days when comparing inventory items.

Given that it has been over 90 days since my account suspension, should I be able to list as many old inventory items (safe, legitimate items) as I want, or should I adhere to the ratio stated above?

I have listed lots of product from an old account after 90days and had no problems, but this was a while back. Amazon are getting more sophisticated everyday so maybe the 90 days has moved to 180 days, who knows. I would recommend the 1-5 route but have the stock that you don't have as inactive or have it has FBA stock but never send to FBA so it makes life easier.

I personally prefer the 1:5 route as well with use of several accounts to sell old items.

If I use same item but change title a bit, different image, different description then would it be ok for new acc? Thanks

Yes it should be fine as it will look as entire new product, but make sure you use new UPC/EAN codes as well. If your item is in high risk that could get you suspended too even if have changed all of the above, so there is never 100% correct answer on your question

With the decoy items that you sell, do you set them as inactive or set to FBA (without shipping to Amazon) as Micky H suggests, or do you have a different strategy? This is the only thing that is making me nervous, otherwise I think I am ready to move full steam ahead.

You can have them as active but never send them to FBA or use them as merchant fulfilled and price them 100% more than the cheapest seller so you never sell them.
