linked acct :(
 

Ok ...so my stealth account got linked. I need some help figuring out how so I can make a new account.

Everything was fine with the account until I entered my bank info on Friday. Received linked account email today. I used a savings account I had never used in the past, but was with the same bank with a checking account that was used with my suspended account.
You think that was my issue? Account had been up for 2 months previously without any problem.

I have had this problem in the US, brand new bank account, add this a few weeks later and then account suspended due to liked to old account. I have not yet figured this out. These were BOA accounts.

So i figured out what happened... logged into my VM today to check IP addresses and somehow my VM (stealth account) has the same IP address as my regular computer. I am a little confused now.. I thought that using VMware would change your IP address. Apparently that is not so, but at least I figured out how I was linked. It was NOT my bank accounts so that is refreshing.
Time to try again.

How would VMware change your IP? IP is provided by the external ISP, you don't get to pick your own IP. VMware provides a new MAC address for the virtual internet adapter.

Lovely, ok. I really misunderstand then. So what changes your ip a wireless dongle?

Ok.. so I originally tried using dial up to generate a new ip on my vm so I wouldnt have to worry about changing the ip. however I couldnt stand how slow the connection was. Here is my ip delema.

My husband and I both have amz buyer accounts and amz prime is hooked up to our tvs to steam video and my kids wii, tablets under the suspended account. Other buyer accounts have to be linked. So... when I change my ip on my router for my VM I need to make sure no one else in the house uses the tv for streaming, browsing apps, shopping on buyer accounts or I will get linked correct?

I almost think buying a new laptop and its own seperate internet connection is the way to go. *sighs*

Just buy a 3g/4g dongle then your are safe.

Go the way Mickey H suggested.

Get a dongle to keep everything separate.

Tip for next account.

amazon look for similarities. Change your bank might be a good idea.

Thanks guys... So Here is my Plan.

Friday, I had an additional cable internet connection installed here with a new provider (because I can't stand dial up!) so I have all our "home & kids" stuff hooked up to the original connection and will be using the new provider's connection for my stealth accounts.

New LLC, New EIN, New PO BOX, Buying Cheapo Prepaid Phone, New Vanilla Gift Card, New Bank Account

Would like to not have to run VM ware as it slows down my computer :(
Do you think it's possible to be able to run a new user account on a laptop that has been used to purchase on amazon with other buyer accounts?? The new user would be using the new wireless connection which would generate a different IP. If not I will use VM Ware, but would love to not have to do that.

You laptop will be fine as long as you set up a new user account, and to be on the safe side use a new browser like 'opera'
