Google Voice Number OK?
 

I was reading alot of the threads about google voice, and just want to see if I got this correct because it seems there are mixed thoughts on google voice.

So it won't work for paypal verification, and should work for ebay (though i think some are saying they got their account suspended and blamed Google voice?), is that right? And is there any issues on google voice with setting up an amazon account? I just don't want to mess up with that.

Dont recommend it, get a cheap cell phone instead

Its a hit and miss. Most numbers are recycled, chances of getting a used number is very high.

I don't remember Amazon ever calling for any kind of verification though. I take it the primary purpose would be for customer's to be able to call in if there's any problems? But isn't it usually contact via Amazon's messaging system? So if the phone number really has no use then can't we just make up any (Valid) number instead of buying a prepaid phone that won't ever be used?
