Promoting your own product/Buying Reviews - anyone have experience?

Hey guys,

Do any of you have any experience promoting your own product on Amazon? I saw several service offering to leave product reviews. Claiming USA accounts/USA IPS/ unlinked.

There are "verified and unverified purchases".

I know that with "verified" the reviewer must purchase the item, and I know that many will make coupons so it can be purchased for $1. However, on a $100+ item it is suspicious.

Who has some advice for Amazon marketing?

Thanks in avance.

Reviewing your own product is not allowed under Amazon rules. I have seen some dumb enough to review their own book under their own name.

Yes, I understand this obviously. I am talking about a "proper" way to do it.

I know these exist. My question is if anyone has used it. I am afraid they will ban my account, because it is relatively easy to spot?

Yes, I'd like to know this too. I've been thinking a lot about this. Any good methods to getting/buying/generating reviews? I know about fiverr, what are other sites that advertise getting amazon reviews. And also via coupons...having 100+ verified reviews via coupon $1 purchases of product, has anyone tried that with success?

I have talked to several people that do this, and they say it works. But in my opinion this is something EXTREMELY simple for amazon to figure out and track. I am very skeptical to do this? Is there a way to try this on a different account possibly?

What would your strategy be?

What do you mean your strategy? It is pretty self explanatory. Get as much reviews as possible? lol

Anyone else have any experience with this?

Please don't beat me up. I know this is not the most ethical thing to do but for an account that never sold before maybe....

What if 3 people got together.

Person A buys something from Person B

Person B buys something from Person C

Person C buys something from Person A

Each person creates a listing for the same price, maybe a $4 to $5 item. Doesn't matter the item because no real shipping of the item would have to take place. You would eat some fees but not much for a low dollar item.

Completely unnecessary when there are hundreds of real people who buy and sell small things for feedback :) no need to be risky

It's easier than taking candy from a baby.

Go to Fiverr, find people who leave reviews for accounts, purchase the gig, link them to the product you want reviewed.

Can they "easily" track this? What in the world makes you think they would know? Some random person halfway across the world reviews an item you just so happen to be selling?

Unless you created the detail page and/or you're the only seller, there's nothing suspicious about it. I have done it many times myself. Do NOT EVER use your own account(s) to leave reviews though. Too easy to make mistakes.

And never buy reviews from the same person twice. One review per person, period. Follow this and you'll be perfectly fine. But remember to space out the reviews by several days and don't have anyone review something that you are the only seller of. Otherwise it's impossible to tie it to you.

Oh, and almost forgot to mention, obviously DO NOT provide Amazon gift cards, coupons, etc for their services. If you have to pay them, use PayPal, because not only are they not associated, but they hate each other. PayPal would never sell you out to Amazon. Never use the same payment method as the thing you're trying to buy.

DO NOT request they purchase the product, ESPECIALLY not from you!

Other than that, just use common sense and stop being paranoid.

@ghostofamazon @petrovich

I am strongly considering doing all reviewing in house. From different accounts spread over time.

What are your thoughts as to the maximum number of reviews per account.

Does amazon even care about this?

Will they suspend an account for leaving reviews on your own listing, especially if it is getting sales.

If you were to do it.

would incognito window be enough or would you also do behind vpn or vps ?

You need LEGITIMATE PURCHASES in order to do this without Amazon noticing. You also need to review products you don't sell.

Yes, they are currently SUING people over phake reviews.

Will they suspend your selling privileges? It all depends. If the account is new and they catch you? Probably. Old account with lots of history and no other violations, probably would just remove review privileges.

Everything must be stealth.
