Default Including business cards in packages. Allowed or not allowed?

Not sure if this is the correct section for this question as it might
also go under "internet marketing". I couldn't find an answer in the
forum though.
Am I allowed to add business cards (or any other
promotional materials for that matter) of my website in packages I send?
At the moment I am not using FBA, though I will probably start
using it in the future.

Hadn't thought of that, depending on type of business could be an excellent idea

You can do it, but if amazon finds out your getting banned. Cause advertising your site to amazon customers is like trying to steal their business.

Now chances of them finding out are slim so a lot of companies do it but just know theres a slight risk involved.

I think there main concern is with promotional material on the outside of packaging and on the invoice inside. You can include contact details, but flyers and discount vouchers to encourage customers to visit your site direct will get you banned. Amazon can ask customers to leave packaging feedback… this is how they find out.

This isn't correct. You're allowed to advertise your own site on your packaging and packaging inserts. What you can't do is try to direct Amazon customers to your own site on their platform (via Amazon messages, or comments on reviews and feedback).

I do half a million in revenue per year on Amazon (selling my own brands of products), and packaging inserts are an integral part of my success. Amazon has no issue with it.

Combine the thank you note with the business card...

This applies ONLY to products SHIPPED AND SOLD BY AMAZON!

Amazon does NOT request info on 3rd party sellers packaging, nor do they care. They only track your ODR metric. If your packaging sucks, feedback will reflect it.

Thank you all for the important info.
I haven't got the chance to check this thread for a while.
So bottom line is, I am allowed to add promotions/business cards/
my website flyer etc. as long as I am the one who is sending the item
and not amazon? In other words - it won't be allowed to add 3rd party
material to a package sent FBA?
Just making sure I got it right.

Its a good way to promote. Definitely ALLOWED to do this. Amazon do it themselves when sending out packages, great way to get good feedback as well
