Phone MAC / Amazon Android App
 
I have an android phone. I use the Amazon App to scan product barcodes. I used this phone and app on my suspended account.

I will NOT be listing the items from the old account. All items will be new. BUT they will have been scanned with the same phone/app.

Can Amazon track this?

In short, can Amazon track your phone MAC and/or IP (3G signal?)

Other than using the phone to scan my inventory, I will NOT be using it at all.

I will not be using the phone to sign into my new Amazon account ONLY to scan inventory!


Please DO NOT respond if you don't have experience. There is a lot of hearsay around here. I'm looking for someone who has actually TESTED and confirmed success or failure, not theories!

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing.

I use Profit Bandit. Profit bandit links your phone to
your Azon seller account so it can access amazons product catalog.

My seller account just got suspended, now I can't scan a product
using PB because as soon as I click the Profit Bandit app it displays
and error message that reads....

Seller [A34GHMRIDBXCNV456] does not have access to the given market place [ATPVDKKINOEDR123].

I am going to cancel my PB subscription. Delete the app. Download the app fresh and reOrder a new PB subscription.

As far as azon linking my phone to my old seller account thru Profit Bandit... IDK..

It's something I will have to test... That will tell me for sure if they can link my phone mac address to my old seller account.

MAC address does not matter. IP does, unless you switch your phone on and off the IP does not change.

The question was regarding using the same phone to scan products....phone is not being used to tether, only the 3G signal and data plan are being used.

I'm not sure if your 3G signal is an IP address, but I hope that explains my question a bit better.

3G connects to the internet so it has an individual IP. However the app if not connecting to your new account so should be fine. To be super sure just delete the app and reinstall. Why don't you use you new account on this phone after you have reinstalled the app.

He and I are discussing different apps.

The app I use requires no account sign in. I have never signed into my account via the app at all. I only scan products that I will be selling on my new account, which I also did with the same phone, and same service, on my old account.
