Any critiques for my Amazon plan? Any help greatly appreciated!

I wanted to take my time with this and its probably delayed me for way to long now. Basically I just wanted to throw this out there and see what you guys thought!

1- Start my LLC (Delaware or Wyoming)

2- Business account and credit card with Chase

3- Burner phone

4- Completely reload my system on my MAC

5- New IP

6- Register with a relatives address (also LLC address)

7- Start selling slowly to build up feedback

If this seems about right I was wondering with the velocity limits is there anyway to speed them along? Or is it just waiting and building up good feedback?

Your plan seems OK, you just have to follow all of the stealth rules. Everything must be new. New bank accounts, new phone, new IP, new address, new name, etc. I don't know much about MAC's, since I mainly use PC's (I have a MAC but I am not an expert on it, by any means) but you do not want it to identify ANY information that was on your old account previously. I would spoof the MAC addresses and make sure that the volume labels, etc. are different. But some say those things are not necessary. I always do it, just to be extra safe - why take the chance? It is easy enough to do it. Be sure to use something like CCleaner on it.

As far as velocity limits go, Amazon does not actually limit your sales the way that eBay does. What happens is, when you reach a certain level of sales, your account will go into review. During the review, you can still list and sell, but all payments will be held. The review takes 30 days, so you have to be prepared for that as far as the payments go.

Velocity reviews are easy to pass. You just have to answer all inquiries within 24 hours, take care of any customer service issues immediately, ship quickly and enter tracking information. That is really all there is to it.

It USED TO BE that the velocity review was triggered at $750. However, that has changed. Now it can happen at any time. I've had them at $200 and I've had them at $2,000. We have not been able to figure out how Amazon decides on the amount for each account. So my advice would be to NOT worry about the velocity review, but to be careful that you do not sell so much stuff that having the money tied up for 30 days will hurt you.

Sometimes the review can take 25 days, sometimes 32 days, but it is right around 30 days and I don't know of any way to speed it up. I think part of the review process is that Amazon wants to see how you are doing OVER TIME. That last part is just my THEORY, however.

We need an Amazon mole to let us know whats going on in the inside as things change. Thanks Jeff extremely helpful!

was wondering if the account reviews occur if using FBA exclusively on a new account?

@jeffweico

how crucial would you say entering tracking information is?

I am selling some cheaper products and sometimes including the tracking doesn't make economical sense. I mainly ship domestic and use stamps.com.

thoughts?

@ampersand, if you can get customers to leave positive reviews, that helps a lot when factoring in lack of tracking numbers

Do your relatives have amazon accounts? This is the issue I have run into and whats kinda stoping me from moving forward.

And what is the need for registering the business in delaware?

Delaware is one of the most business friendly states in the USA.

If you're going to Incorporate, it's easily one of the top 5 best states to register your business in.

That said, OP is making this needlessly complicated. No need for a business credit card and LLC for a stealth account....I wouldn't waste my time and resources on a brand new stealth, especially not my first one, by doing all this. If it goes down, you just wasted a lot of time/money for nothing...

While all of it may not be necessary on a new stealth account, it seems like he would need to add an EIN fairly soon into the process. So the LLC makes sense...the credit card is a little much.

I've written about this numerous times...you do not need an EIN for Amazon, nor a SS#.
