There's no magic way in my experience you just have to sell a lot of whatever that product and have good feedback off those orders

Some categories take longer than others to get the buy box

Yes FBA is the answer for instant buy box... otherwise no way around it

To add to your answer:

You need FBA at the lowest price if there's others selling the item by FBA to guarantee winning the buy-box. However, please note, this is not the case if Amazon is selling the item themselves, even if you have the lowest price, their listing will win the buy box regardless.

no no.. .amazon will win the buy box if their price is within a certain % of yours. But other sellers usually have to be within cents to a dollar in most cases then buybox rotates upon successful sale or something like that can't remember.

Amazon on the other hand are only willing to go so low price wise and you can go low as possible to test its pricing bots to see how low and then base your price on that to always have the buybox.

I have always use the same price as the buy box holder to sell. I used fba. And i do get a lot of sales from it. I dont mind sharing the buy box as long as sales are there. I dont want to compete since most sellers are so experienced and can manage with very low margin.

Also, in some listings, if all the sellers are from China. I can increase my price to almost 5-10 quid extra than the buy box holder. And I still get sales from it. Although not as fast when u get the box.
