Method to Test a Bank for Mismatched Names?
 

Hi All. I am sure everyone familiar with Amazon knows individuals sellers get deposits 14-21 days after a sale. So basically, I have to wait 14-21 days after a sale for the Amazon ACH deposit to be sent. I cannot test a bank if they accept mismatched names until then. Basically, bc I don't know if they will accept the deposit, I can't sell freely until 14-21 days. At that point I will know if the bank is good.

Does anyone know a clever method to test a bank for a Deposit with mismatched names?

I was thinking writing a check to someone else then depositing it thru mobile banking. But that wouldnt be the same bc the check is from me, my address is on it. Also, doesn't paypal send 2 sample deposits in your mismatched name when you open a new paypal? Could I use that method to test if a bank will accept mismatched names?

The list is: Wells Fargo, TD Bank, Suntrust, BB&T, Cap One, CitiBank, HSBC. If anyone can confirm if any of these banks currently accept mismatched names. Or if they could provide a method to test that would be awesome. Thank you.

Clever methods? lol...how about you do a small deposit in the $40 range, then see if the bank lets you withdraw, is that clever enough?

How should I send the deposit? Using a paypal account with a mismatched name? What do you recommend?

I guess I could make a new paypal acct with mismatched name with a vanilla visa. Then add bank account I would like to test. Then withdraw funds from the vanilla visa attached to the paypal and send it to the bank account? Is that possible?

Another option is to create two test paypals accounts with mismatched names. Attach vanilla visa to one of them. Then send money from vanilla visa to the other paypal with mismatched name so it has a balance that can be immediately withdrawn. Then try to withdraw that to the bank account I would like to test for mismatched names. Maybe that works?

Perhaps another sender instead of paypal, bc if I attach the bank to paypal, I would waste/link the bank account if I wanted to use it for ebay.

Just confused on the chronological order on how to send the test deposit...and which method is fastest and easiest.

Why have to do all that trouble while we already know which bank allow mismatch name?

I tried searching the forums for banks that work. The only clear cut perfect answers I found was Chase and BoA. Chase does not exist in my state, so they won't let me open an account online bc they ask for your zip code. So can't pick Chase. BoA is off limits bc I have personal things there (mortgage, cc's, etc.) so I prefer not using them for stealth.

Trying to figure out method to test mismatched names from the bank list above since I could not find a clear cut answer other than Chase and BoA when searching the forum.

You didn't look very hard if you couldn't find a list....there are several all over the forum. Some are even stickied.

You keep making it sound complicated.
1. Add bank to PayPal
2. Withdraw $$ to Bank
3. Try to withdraw from Bank

Not sure why this sounds so complicated :noidea:

Also, keeping "stealth" bank accounts separated from your personal bank is entirely unnecessary.

1) If you do something stupid on stealth and the feds find you, they find your social - doesn't matter what bank you use.
2) If you DO manage to open a bank account with a cake id and a cake social, you WILL eventually get caught when the IRS has mismatch and then your money is held AND you get charged...


So please explain the logic in not having stealth at BOA?? Unless you're concerned about BOA shutting down your other stuff because of mismatch name deposits - but we've all told you that doesn't happen. In fact, you can get like 8 accounts for $25 a month with BOA. Great for stealth. Also, you can open up chase with a friend's address in a state that has it. Once you're a customer, tell them you moved out of state - they'll let you keep your account and you can get the address changed to your actual address.


Whatever you do, I question your intentions when you want to keep stealth bank accounts somehow "separate" from personal stuff (unless you're talking about using an LLC, in which case you could have a separate bank account at BOA anyway...)
