Amazon asking for proof of ID after 3 yrs of business

Got an email this morning asking for proof of ID and address from Amazon. Naturally, we aren't able to provide this. Seems pretty serious, as they claim our account will be blocked during this review.

Suggestions? Anyone else run into this? This is our 2nd Amazon account. I assume they're onto something.

On a business account? what, heard of stuff like this from UK accounts but nothing form US accounts.

Yea, business account. Pretty sure it's legit, but it did come from Amazon SES so it's tough to say (anyone can use SES to mass mail, we do).

From and reply-to are both account-confirmation@amazon.com, and the email suggests sending a message to that email for any questions.

they are asking for personal ID on a business account. Why not send then your business license and a bill in business name or something that shows business name on it with address. If it comes down it to hit up fiver or one of those sites and have the documents you need generated for ya.

Not a bad idea but I feel this will just stall them a little bit if they really want personal info. But we could try it.

you never want to lose an account when you can stall them for a bit to and keep selling as long as you have access to funds from said account.

try the business license thing, worst they can say is well we cannot accept this.

Very true. We're going to sit on it for 2 days and see if we can come up with anything more brilliant than the business paperwork. Then try that and see where it leads. Thanks for your input.

Are there any similarities between the 2 accounts that may have triggered this?

I have dreaded that Amazon would start this in the US
