Firefox profiles vs Portable Firefox: is one just as safe as the other for stealth?

Hey guys, I'm working with limited hard drive space. Portable Firefox requires multiple program installations for multiple accounts (= more space and more complicated management), whereas the usual Firefox install allows multiple profiles which store all cookies, proxy info etc. each in its own folder and all easily launchable from one main icon. From what I can tell, Firefox Profiles offer the same security in segregating multiple Amazon & Ebay accounts as Portable Firefox. Am I missing anything, or is one just as good as the other? TIA

Are you using just one user account on the computer to manage several ebay/amazon accounts?

Amazon and eBay methods need to be isolated as the former is far more stringent.

I wouldn't run more than one Amazon accounts on the same computer (unless your using virtual machines), let alone user accounts, portable browsers, or even profiles within a browser.

You really need to upgrade your hard drive, a normal 1TB HDD will suffice, and is very cost efficient.

I wouldn't even run two Amazon accounts on the same computer. I use a separate VM for each of my accounts. I know there are others who would say that you can just use a different user account for each Amazon account but I wouldn't take the risk.

Sorry - I've amended my post, I meant to say you shouldn't run more than one amazon account...

It is possible to run accounts under the same PC, under the same user for Amazon, but extremely risky. Best to stick to virtual machines. There's are thread on here detailing how to use VM's - really easy.

Thanks Play. I saw in an earlier post you were able to run multiple accounts using Portable browsers. Did anything go wrong with that setup? The only thing I can see would be if Amazon could see the Windows user profile. I guess that would only be possible if I uploaded something like an image direct from the PC right? Only if creating new listings or uploading csv's or something?

If your tech savvy, you could potentially get away with doing this with multiple ebay accounts (although very risky). Definitely no chance with Amazon.

To run multiple AZ accounts from the same computer, you would have to use Virtual Machines.

I would of thought so too myself, but nothing seems to suggest they can see the directory of where the image is being uploaded from (and therefore, the username of the computer). Perhaps someone like @B1NARY can better answer this question.

But this doesn't matter when it comes to AZ since you need 1 VM per AZ anyway. So when you create the VM, you'll give it its own computer name and username (make sure these aren't labelled AZ-1, AZ-2 etc., but rather you give them actual names, perhaps the surname of the account etc.)
