Amazon A to Z claim

I recently place an order on Amazon, the item was priced at £13.29 and it stated UK free delivery. The dimensions of the item were given as 30cm x 20 cm x 8cm. It had OK feedback.
The item arrived it was very flimsy and when I measured it it was only 1mm thick, so I was not happy and did not want the item. I contacted the seller regarding a refund. They e-mailed me asking for more details as to why I wanted to return the item. I explained that the thickness of the product made it unusable to me and that their advert dimension were misleading. They responded to my email suggesting an amount of 8A£ because it costs a lot of money to send back to China. I asked what did 8A£ mean can they clarify. Then it went quite. I did not know the item was manufactured and shipped from China, if I had, I would not have placed my order at all. Now they want me to keep the item and they keep £5.29. Its not my fault they have incurred costs I think they should have been more honest. So I filed an A to Z claim, then I got a reply saying they will given me a full refund if I remove the claim. I have responded, If they refund the full amount Amazon will deny my claim. Do you think I am being unreasonable? How can I be sure I will get the refund once I drop the claim - they after all are the ones who have been misleading? Your comments will be appreciated - thanks in advance.

So it was supposed to be 8cm and turned out to be 1mm? Can't imagine. What item did you order anyways?
