DuSpast | 01-12-2017 07:55 AM | Amazon Topical Products Requirements? WTF? Hey Guys,
My account was today approved to sell in the "Beauty" Category.
Then i tried to add a product i would like to sell and then this happened:
I should request approval for "Topical Sub Category"?
1. If i'm a Reseller/Distributer or Manufacturer or both.
Because i'm an authorised reseller i just clicked the first option.
2. I should upload 1 Invoice. What is not a problem at all.
3. Upload on of these documents:
- Certificate of Analysis (COA)
- FDA Orange book application number
- Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certificate
My problem is, i have no clue where to find or getting one of those documents. It also makes zero sense to me, because i'm a reseller and not a Distributer or Manufacturer.
After that i should also then pay $3,000!
Any advise or help please?! |
russellmr2 | 01-12-2017 08:08 AM | Re: Amazon Topical Products Requirements? WTF? If the Manufacturer is legit, they should be able to supply you with these documents and that is what Amazon wants to make sure that your products are legit.
As for the $3k, to sell some brands you need to "buy-in" to be allowed to sell them, looks like some categories are also... |
Re: Amazon Topical Products Requirements? WTF? Your title says "Topical" but you write "Tropical" OP....which one is it? |

The brands are well known. But I have also no idea really what those points are? |

1. Upload invoices.
2. Get and upload the documents that they are asking you for.
3. Pay fee (if it is worth it to you).
4. Profit? |
Re: Amazon Topical Products Requirements? WTF? Upload on of these documents:

Those are quality documents that prove that the product has had some quality assurance. If you are legit reseller, you can ask for one from the manufacturer...provided that you are buying directing from manufacturer. Alternatively, you could contact Amazon and explain that you are not the manufacturer but are a reseller - to which they might ask you OTHER documents.
OR you just walk away and forget all this. |
DuSpast | 01-12-2017 11:23 AM | Re: Amazon Topical Products Requirements? WTF? Like i said. The fee is pretty high but that's how it is now at Amazon I guess.
Invoices not a problem at all!
The problem is the rest 3 requested documents! I'm not the manufacturer so how should I provide them these documents from the FDA etc?
If the brand is from Europe, do you think they will know any of those documents? I don't think so |
russellmr2 | 01-12-2017 12:02 PM | Re: Amazon Topical Products Requirements? WTF? If your product was ever approved by the FDA you can find it here: Orange Book: Approved Drug Products with Therapeutic Equivalence Evaluations
They are asking you the orange book number, if its "show us 1 of the 3" you can find your product and give them that number if its there.
Are you doing RA/OA or are you actually buying from the manufacturer?
If you are buyer direct from the manufacturer you can easily request the information from them that amazon is requesting from you, should not be a problem. |

Ok but this is just shampoos. Will this also be then ther on the link?
I purchase it from the exclusive Distriuber and they purchase it from the Manufacturer of course. And I don't think they have any informations if this is FDA approved etc. because I purchase it from Spain and not from the United States, since it is also a European brand.
What does RA/OA mean? |

What does RA/OA mean? | Best way to find out is to try to search for it on that site.
Never hurts to ask really.. they might have them or can source them for you, just ask. Worst case is they say no. They are in the business of selling things, you are buying, so its in their interest too.
RA = Retail arbitrage
OA = Online arbitrage |

And to protect themselves from litigation.

What does RA/OA mean? | You might have to also check that this is not a grey import and not allowed to be sold in the US.
It may not meet FDA requirements.
BUT! Good for you for checking now rather than risk any damage to your account that could lead to suspension.

KenjiMishima | 01-13-2017 01:50 AM | Re: Amazon Topical Products Requirements? WTF? There are plenty of other profitable things you can do with beauty than what you are trying to do. Look up some videos about RA. Im pretty sure you can make some good money. Stack those extrabuck deals at cvs |
DuSpast | 01-13-2017 06:20 AM | Re: Amazon Topical Products Requirements? WTF? Ok but like i said, i'm an authorised reseller for this brand. I purchase it and use it my store for sell. So that it is not something illegal. I sold this brand or items previously also without any problems.
But now these requested documents makes no sense at all for a retailer. I'm pretty sure, that because this is a Brand from Spain it will not be FDA approved or something like that.
But what are those are two documents?
- Certificate of Analysis (COA)
- Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certificate |

Ok i tried your link. But i couldn't find any documents for this Brand/ Products. I guess because this is a European brand there are not FDA approved.
But those items are sold by other sellers on Amazon. And even i sold it in the past without any issues. |

Re: Amazon Topical Products Requirements? WTF? I have many clients approved for topicals and similar difficult categories such as dietary supplements. Most of them did not pay a fee to Amazon in order to get approved. That is only a requirement for certain brands
Once you're approved for topicals you should be good to sell all topical products- although occasionally their are additional brand requirements but it's pretty rare. You have to provide Amazon with exactly what they're requesting. |

Yes because the Manufacturer are the only onces with those information like how they produced the products.
All the informations are just silly in my opinion. Because a reseller will never have those information just if the Manufacturer is very nice to all the resellers lol | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 09:26 AM. | |
