Choosing an OS for VMware

So i have downloaded VMware with the intention of getting serious and opening new Amazon accounts.

I now need to get an operating system so have a various options.

1. Firstly i take it i can not rip the OS (to discs) i have on my laptop now and use it?

2. If i buy one is there any to avoid? Win 7, 8, XP, Vista, all good?

3. I'm seeing licenses for sale at £14.99. I just find a free download of Windows 7 add product key and thats it? No obvious catches?

4. I read Ubuntu is free. Do you need to be techie to work with this? Windows no doubt makes it easy working with different browsers and search engines, is Ubuntu going to be radically different? I only need to do basic searches on the net and access amazon.

1. You can use any OS, doesn't matter

2. Yes any of them are fine

3. There are many ways you can download them for free, but yes I recommend purchasing a legit copy so you are guaranteed to not have any spyware/trojans

4. Ubunto is easy to use as long as it has a windows interface that you're familiar with. I personally prefer microsoft windows

Thanks, i went for Ubuntu as a free OS i could download immediately. More straightforward than i imagined and comes with firefox pre installed.
Presumably i can use this multiple times? Just create a new virtual machine each time?

I would try to use a different OS each time if you can do

Using the same OS each time with the same browser and just creating a new VM did used to work brilliantly but going forward Amazon have stepped up their tracking so you want to try to make each account more unique.

I would use a combination of OS, like XP, Win 8 and Win 10. To add to the uniqueness you can then also use a new browser on each one (Chrome, FireFox and Opera would work)

You can then mix all these up and great half a dozen totally unique set ups which really helps lower Amazons ability to track you

My real name and address will now be marked. I now need a new one. Do Amazon check the electoral roll to see if names match up to addresses?
I can probably get a new credit card and i have debit cards i have not used before. An AVS check will surely throw up a mismatch in address though? How do i get around that?

Yes you'll need a stealth account

Make sure all the information you use is unique and never used before

And no they don't cross verify electoral information

They don't check things like that :)

You will also need a new bank account for a new Amazon
