Experiences using LogMein?
 

Hi Guys,

Do any of you use logmein or teamviewer to manage accounts for example when you're away?

I realise the target computers will have to be connected to the internet 24/7 to establish a connection with logmein - how do you guys get around this using a dongle?

You could setup virtual machines on one computer and login from another, managing all accounts. You could also setup a VPN per virtual machine.

Just do testing before you go live with the setup.

Yep, use logmein when traveling to access my home computer. if you need access to multiple user accounts, logmein is good cause it can log you out and gives you access to ctrl alt delete screen.

as aspkin said always test it/anything before, sometimes a firewall or stupid active x is blocking you.

I have done this when going abroad, worked a treat. Host PC has virtual machines with VPN per machine. I actually give my host PC to my parents who can turn it on and off for me, then i access with a laptop from my location via logmein. Makes for much less stressful breaks and its pretty fast in my experience.

Works great from overseas etc, I've used teamviewer for similar purposes with no issues while traveling

VPN is the way to go.

Might seem like "oh no, another cost" but in reality you will save time and that time can be used to improve your business and that means you'll end up with more time and money.

Invest into things that make everything easier, more practical and more... universal? Its a small investment, with great long term benefits.
