Amazon Ghost Step 4 and Step 7 Confusion
 

Someone please help on this problem. On Amazon Ghost Step 4, it says that we can open a new seller account using a friend's name or basically any name not yours.

Then on Step 7, for the bank account account beneficiary name, it was mentioned that you can use any of your bank account (under your real name) as long as it wasn't used for Amazon before.

This means now that Amazon will be trying to deposit funds for your bank account under a wrong name but correct bank account number - Will this work? Will money go thru?

No problems for MOST banks. Some banks do not allow it. 99% of them do.

As far as I know Amazon don't transmit the name with withdrawals so the issue with mismatching names doesn't happen (this is only based on my knowledge of UK and other EU countries so may differ in the US and Canada)

Some banks in the USA/foreign will show the amazon stealth name on the disbursement line on the bank statement, but most don't show a name -- just a random deposit via Amazon

So in the US Amazon always transmits the name with disbursements? Very different to the UK

I would say the majority don't show the name, but I've seen it a few times with a few banks in the US, a couple in CA, couple in UK and couple foreign EU ones.

It varies but most of the time the name doesn't show up which is nice for stealth accounts :)

That's slightly different to the name being transmited

In the UK Amazon doesn't use the faster payment system, it still uses the old bank transfer system which is why it takes 2/3 days to clear. Under that system the name isn't ever transmitted

In the US if the name shows on some statements it must be assumed that Amazon always transmit the name which is interesting. It will then just depend on the bank as to if the transaction is shown on the statement or not

Interesting... I can't remember which banks I recall seeing a name on the statement for a UK Amazon (possibly HSBC, or smile.co.uk).

I know for the USA, chase, wells, bofa don't show names, but a lot of credit unions do.

Would be cool to put a large list together :)
