Interesting of them to promote that.

The type of person that is likely to ask for a refund/return of an item under 10 bucks isn't the same type of person that spends a lot of money shopping online. Looks like they don't really care about how much you spend on Amazon, they just want everyone on their site.

Pretty smart to take a small loss for a huge amount of publicity, even if that publicity is targeting the cheaper online shoppers.

Amazon wants every one of you!

Amazon has always been very "customer" centric and would always go above and beyond for their customers.

But there's a good reason behind it. Their tracking technology is above and beyond anything else I've seen in the retail industry. Just how their able to track sellers trying to make new accounts and continue selling after being banned, they have similar measures for buyers too.

So that basically means if you abuse their refund policy - your cards "will" be marked, and eventually your account will be suspended for good. Their happy to lose money, and not faff around with returns/refunds, just so long as they know your not taking advantage of them.

Yes, there will also be a 'secret' threshold of refund demands they will tolerate before they kick your butt off the site...

I saw the show - ripoff britain mentioning this policy a few days ago, as if it was a great consumer win, without any mention of not overdoing it or else.....

I remember I bought a load of electric shavers from Amazon, there was a fault on a couple so I contacted customer service and they told me to dispose of them and I got refunded
