New Amazon 2 step verification process on log-in
 
Signed into our Canadian account today and a new page came up.
Amazon 2 step verification on sign in to become standard on June 30th.

Step 1 text message to phone or use their code generator App (scan the QR code). Used our cell for text message as it is registered to account.

Step 2. Text, voice call or QR scan. Entered same phone number as step 1 for voice call and said you need to input a different #.

At that point I kicked out.

My main worry is this App they are wanting you to use. If you scan the QR to get a code to input on Amazon to pass the verification, is it possible this APP that Amazon wants you to use can read your phone # associated with the phone? And if so will Amazon get this info.

Either way, stealth could get a bit more costly if we need active phones for each account.

Any ideas/suggestions? and has anyone else run across the Amazon 2 Step?

Get the google authenticator. You can use it offline without any internet. Not sure how they could link you if there is no internet connection

i have a question: the telephone numbers that we used for the verification, will they became related ?

Like if i have two account, and both of them i used the two same numbers, will it be suspended because of related account?

Yes possibly... Don't re-use any same information on multiple accounts. That is a no brainer :yar:

You need 2 phones, or 1 authenticator app and 1 phone

I know this is an old thread, but I've been trying all day to use the authenticator app for my 2nd verification, but it isnt working. I put the code in and click verify, the page just resets. Is there anyway to contact amazon about this? I called their support but they say all the seller support is in the seller central, which btw I cant access anything (including support) without completing the 2sv bs. Or any other solution? just get a burner phone? Anyone else every experience a similar situation with the authenticator app?

If the code no longer works for the same authenticator that has been working, reach out to support and tell them this

Tell them you have not changed the two step device yet it stopped working

There were a lot of people reporting similar issues

The only solution if they make you change the two step or re-do it is to send in your ID to verify your account belongs to you

How do I reach out to support? I'm unable to use the link amazon sent me because it leads to the same place that I have to enter the 2sv.

There should be a help button / contact us link on the bottom left

You can reach support without having to be logged in

Having trouble I think is the text link
