Returns Question
 

I have noticed that a competitor who I sometimes will purchase from will authorize returns on their Amazon account and have the return address go back to their real address (which would have been associated with a prior suspended account of theirs)

Does Amazon not really "look" at the return addresses? It would be nice to not have returns go to a 3rd party, then pay to have them sent to us...

Any thoughts on this?

I would imagine it depends on the account and the address.

I personally wouldn't risk it myself.

No you should not have any problems with this.

You can use an address as a returns that's already been suspended. I did it for all my accounts and never had any issues.

Agree i know many overseas sellers using same address for returns and never had issue

How exactly do you know that this person was previously suspended? And how do you know that the "return" address is his "real" address? Plenty of companies ship from one warehouse and use another for returns. Even Amazon at times.

they used the address for return which is previously suspended from AZ and their accounts run fine

I agree with tony, address does not matter for returns. I have been using a banned return address for over 3 years on our “main account”. I just don’t know if it’s better to take down listings, admit error and just use the “main” account that did not receive a policy violation

I'd imagine using a banned address would be very bad practice. If you're account ever warrants a review by Seller Performance and they inspect your account and notice the suspended return address this could be the justification or "just-cause" to suspend you.

Same here. I've had a "suspended address" as the return address on a ghost account that I've been selling on for years

Anyone know if this is still true? Wondering if its safe to use an address that was on a suspended account as a return address.

I wouldnt risk it TBH. if your account goes manual review and they see the same address used for returns this is more chance of linking you as the same person.

This thread was in 2017, 2018-2019 amazon has been a total double bitch with everything.
Things have gotten a lot tougher.

I wouldn’t do it myself.
