Amazon 7 days hold since August 2016
 

Hi Everyone,

for accounts newer than 15. August 2016 Amazon seems to withhold the money u earned for until 7 days after the last expected delivery date.

So far so good.

Also for new accounts a 3 weeks hold could be applied by AMZ, which most of the time occurs after adding a bank account to a new amazon account, except u go really slow and are able to dodge this kind of hold - which i never was.

For me, as I am shipping from Asia, the delivery time is already about 3 weeks, plus 1 week withhold, so AMZ will hold my funds for a month anyway.

Since many ppl here recommend not to attach the bank account on the very first day, I am very much an advocate of it, as I'll have a 4 weeks hold on my account anyways, even without haven a bank account attached.

I tested it and it didn't make a difference. They'll apply the 3 weeks hold as usual, but the $$ wont flow before week 4 anyways (3 weeks delivery time + one week hold)

Question: will these 7 day holds go away or stay forever?

From my understanding they only do the 7 day hold for 3 months and then you move up to 'Tier II' It may be a good idea to get onto a chat with them if you comfortable and have a chat with them about it.

what's "Tier II" ?? Is that better or worse?

when i asked them they said it was forever, they get tighter every day. i asked about a 7 month old account
