Do ALL new Amazon accounts require documents IMMEDIATELY?

Created my first Amazon accounts in a while. Things have changed a bit.

On both the EU and US accounts they required ID and utility bill immediately.

Is this the new standard now? They used to only request it after you hit a certain number of sales.

In the US yes they do

In the EU no they don't always

Yep, it's crazy. Actually, the one that I opened the other day asked for business licence, utility bill and supplier invoices. The part that I think is crazy is when you have to provide a business licence, though you aren't a business

If you open 10 new EU accounts, roughly how many will require ID immediately?

USA always have document requests now, regardless of individual or pro, eventually all types can ask for business license, utility, bank statement and passport.

UK ones will occasionally ask for documents up front, and then again once you start approaching the 15K limit for verification

I turned a lomg standing buyers account into a sellers account last week no problem.

No one here is Amazon, but many here have opened many, many accounts. Seems like a pretty legit question.

Getting requested for docs in EU/UK is a bit random, I could easily give OP a fictional number but what good is that? By doing that it benefits nobody.

Impossible to say

Its totally random

In the last 30 accounts I have made its about 5, but I wouldn't take that as any sort of indication. I could make 10 more and get requests on 9 of them
