Does Amazon no longer take Debit cards for credit card verification?

I have to put new credit card information into an existing Amazon account. I'm using a debit card for a new Checking account. Amazon is telling me the card is invalid. Is Amazon no longer taking debit cards for account verification? If so what are my options?

Amazon accepts the majority of debit/credit cards. Just make sure yours is activated and has sufficient balance.

If yours doesn't get accepted, try a different bank issued card

Ok, I'm just a tired air head. I did not put the middle initial in when entering the information and its working fine now. I really hate it when **** like this happens.
