Does Amazon sniff VPN DNS leaks?
Recently got a VPN with 24VC using a bridged Windows 7 VMWARE setup using SoftEther VPN. Im being extremely proactive disabling all potential fingerprinting such as WebRTC by following the steps here: https://www.privacytools.io/
I set up a rule in Windows firewall to block DOMAIN and HOME traffic for Firefox and kept PUBLIC open. When not connected to the VPN the Network Sharing Center shows my local area connection as HOME so the firewall blocks this traffic in Firefox; When I connect to the VPN the VPN connection shows in the Network Sharing Center as PUBLIC and the local area connection shows as [UNIDENTIFIED NETWORK] and PUBLIC but greyed out so you cant change the connection type. I believe the local area connection must always be active because im using VMWARE so I have to rely on my computers LAN. Correct me if I am wrong or if theres a better solution to this.
I ran some DNS leak tests and it appears my local ISP leaks, so it shows my local ISP DNS as well as my 24VC's DNS.
