Default .......Is this a bad idea?

If my Amazon account goes down I report my card as lost and get a new one with a new number. I am worried somewhere, somehow this will raise flags. Will it?

Keep on doing that and reporting lost cards and you end up in doo-doo.

Poor choice of MO for business.

I woudn't do that too often. If I had 5 cards from 5 different banks I might report them stolen/lost no more than once a year, if possible less.

Not sure if the banks keep track of the phone number calling in. Might as well call and report them stolen when you're abroad, so it looks like you lost em on a holiday trip.

There are other options.

1. Make sure you don't get banned
2. User prepaid cards offered in marketplace.

Banks record lost cards.

They are tolerant to a point about them happening.

Too many fibs of lost cards can go against you.

You want to avoud the Fraud Department sniffing around your accounts.

Please be careful.

If they are debit cards they should not be on your credit report. Only credit cards show up on your credit report. If you are using credit cards this is extremely risky.

If an account gets negative and amazon can’t charge the. Add linked to it they will attempt to send you to collections. Since you are apparently using legit info a collections agency account will Show up on your credit report.

Use a debit card and avoid that risk. Of course don’t use a real address that you are associated with.

I misworded my orginal post. I left out the word "debit":

"I'd had great luck using debit Visa / Mastercards issued from banks / credit unions and I plan to use this now on."

Debit cards are the best since they easily pass AVS. I've been researching all banks which issue debit mastercard/visa's so I can have a reasonable amount of new debit cards and bank accounts.

I will spread it out among banks. I anticate only reporting any debit card lost 3 times max per year.

If I had 5 seperate banks this would give me a total of 15 unique charge methods.

If the average VCC on the market is $70, doing this would save me $1050.

That stealth address showing up on credit history is worrisome for future credit requests on your part - doesnt really hurt credit but just looks odd...of course depending if you need credit or not

The stealth address isnt stealth if it’s on your credit report. Your real details are associated with it. If you get into any trouble, legal or financial it would be easy to link you.

^^That's kind of what I was thinking.

Isn't Amazon known to pull a seller's credit history from time to time?

@OP - Are the debit cards not causing you problems? I'm not Amazon savvy. But I was in the AZ seller forums just now looking for an answer to the credit report question, and I found some pro's saying you can't use debit cards. Only real credit cards with an attached line of credit.

AZ link...

Forgive me if I'm sounding uneducated here..
The AZ seller forums is literal cancer. Those pros are miseducated. I've used 4 TD Visa debit cards this year with no problems. As long as the debit card is Visa or Mastercard you are fine.

TD was the easiest, hassle free way of getting new card. I cant use TD debit cards right now because I closed the account as I churn this bank account (they give yearly sign up bonuses which I churn). I have several new Visa/Mastercard debit cards being mailed from a few bank accounts I opened. I plan to use they debit cards on new stealth accounts I open this month. If they do and suspend me again I may commit seppuku.

What reason could Amazon have to go out of their way for credit reports? I sincerely don't see why they would do this, and even if they did only during the initial account creation when they verify account Identification.

I make lots of accounts. I don't want to unnecessarily spend money on VCC in the marketplaces.

Honestly, I've lost my one credit card at least 15 times in a year LOL and they always send it as express, but I can tell they're not so pleased with me.. debit I've lost 5 times within a year span, and most my other cards I haven't lost but the chip wore out. I don't think they really care much for debit, they just pull another out. Just wear the chip out and they'll give you a new card anyways

Oh, churning bank accounts too?

Another scary step. Your conduct could get you flagged.

Just sayin’

Nothing wrong with opening bank accounts for bank bonuses then closing when not used.

Some banks are sensitive to this practice. They pull your Chex report upon opening a new account and sometimes deny based on too many inquiries.
