Updating tax ID trigger investigation?
 

Amazon requires a Federal Registration Number (GST/HST number) to collect tax. What happens if I change my number? Would this trigger anything?

mine is still an incorrect number 3 years later. i just pay the tax that amazon collects. haven't had any issues

Yes, they are both professional sellers. Anything tax related makes my feet cold and if they require more documents this could end the accounts.

I've read hundreds of threads and can't find relevant info to this, especially for the Amz.ca Canadian side.

Maybe someone would know for the USA side? If an amz.com seller updates their State Registration Number for their tax collection service under >Tax Settings, does Amz request docs?

Anytime you update any account information you will most likely get an automatic review

If you have problems with your account before this auto review, it will most likely come out at this point

We dont have states in Canada so its called a Federal Registration Number but its basically the same.
