To buy or not to buy

Here's the deal people my business partner and I went our separate ways and I am left in the office but the problem is that some buyer and maybe seller accounts may have logged in from this network. I did get a new IP address but I am afraid to login to amazon sellercentral using my good standing account in case the hit me with a related account suspension. I was thinking about buyin a new router but not really sure if that would make a difference please help!!

First of all, buying a new router will accomplish nothing. Forget about what you read about MAC address, this isn't rue, no website can see your MAC.

The problem is IP and cookie related, and buying a new router won't help whit this. Regarding the cookies a portable browser or (even better) VMware or reinstallation of windows will do the job.

As for a new IP restarting your router might be enough. Although when dealing with more than one account, I'd personally use a VPN for each to separate accounts one and for all and not get stuff mixed up.

Whatever you do, before you go any further, make sure you read and understand what ppl in the forums write and you'll be all good. If you don't understand, ask before taking another step.

Good luck

Thanks for the reply Dachilla, I have never logged into sellercentral or amazon.com using my PC so I dont see an issue with the cookies although I do browse amazon daily without ever logging in.

The new IP will be a static IP address

I take all I need to do is make sure the IP had been changed and the PC was never logged into amazon, I guess I don't need to change the router itself. what about the modem????

Don't risk it. The static IP MAY be compromised already.

Buy a mobile broadband.

I would get a new laptop + new IP to stay as safe as possible.

Or you could do virtual machine + new IP
