Changing Amazon account to an LLC
 

I have an Amazon account under my stepsons name that I'm going to change over to an LLC that is in my name. I sent an email to Amazon regarding this issue and got this email from them today.

Hello from Amazon Business Seller Support,

My name is Michael and I understand you are contacting us because you want to change your account over to an LLC.

In order to reflect changes to your business in Seller Central, you need to take the Amazon Tax Interview again.

You can enter your tax information in your Seller account, using a short interview process that can be accessed from the Settings > Account Info > Legal Entity section.

This will take you to a self-service interview process that will guide you through entering your taxpayer information and validating your W-9 or W-8BEN form. In order to fulfill the IRS requirements as efficiently as possible, answer all questions and enter all information requested during the interview. Once you take this interview, you will be able to change your legal name.

Will they take the business information off of my account or am I going to have to put in my stepson's information again? I want to get this out of his name.

I did the conversion recently and the legal entity became the LLC. I didn't see my actual name on the account anywhere; however, I'm assuming that Amazon will track it somewhere.

They are going to ask for the first and last name of the person that the LLC is registered under. But the tax interview is piece of cake as long as you have your LLC paperwork in front of you.

At what point do they ask it? During the tax interview or account set up?

If during the account setup, I was just going to put the LLC name as the book says.

So what do I tell them? It will be under my name but I have a suspended account which is why it was under my stepson's name. Do I give them his name if it isn't under his name? Are they going to check it?
