I am thinking about getting into the Amazon market.
Does anyone know if there is a way to set it up so you don't even have to see or package the items you sell? Is there a way to have them shipped directly from an Amazon warehouse location?

Yes. What you're describing is the FBA program. You can have your inventory shipped directly to AZ and they fulfill your orders for a fee.

I have been strictly an eBay seller, never really looked in Amazon. It seems Amazon marketplace is picking up and eBay market is trending down so I need to be looking at getting into Amazon.

Can anyone steer me in the right direction as to how to find out more about FBA? What are the pros to the FBA system in comparison to eBay?

I don't use it but I can name a few benefits : you don't have to package your own orders, you don't have to fill your home with inventory, Amazon deals with it when packages go missing
and some cons: you don't see your own inventory, you have little control over your shipping operation, you're paying AZ a fee for fulfillment
Basically you sacrifice a lot of control and a little of your profits for the convenience of not having to fill your own orders.

Use google and then read on the amazon website.
Some people love FBA, some hate it. Large items with low volume sales can be very hard after amazon storage fees. Small items with high volumes are great for FBA IF you dont mind giving up control.
Also, you need to check your market. Chinese love FBA of course and can sell very low if need be.
On amazon, your items are rarely seen if you dont use FBA and are not the lowest priced. Amazon is much more of a commodity than ebay. Price wins most of the time.
On ebay, of course you can bundle and take great pictures etc....Not so much on amazon.

A couple of things about FBA, they have strict weight, qty and dimension rules.
And recently they are starting to charge for excess inventory space.
So make sure you look into this first.
Other than that FBA is great. I love it

FBA is great but can also be a nightmare if you are suspended. Dont overextend how much inventory you give them.
They're also borderline retarded in some situations. Amazon's has over $5000 of inventory "lost" in their warehouse for over 8 months and they still cannot give me a resolution. Absolutely horrid.

Well, if they lose or damaged your stuff, you should be compensated for that...

Simply get the stock imported to the prep centre, they package your items ready for FBA and then ship them directly to Amazon for you. Prices aren't too bad either, here in the UK at least anyway.

I started amazon back in november, i sell some items that a dealer drop ships for me, and i also sell my own items. I'm up to about 10-15k a month profit, a lot of my inventory i've moved into FBA, because i am sick and tired of USPS delivering items and then customer says they didn't get it... amazon always sides with the buyer in that case.
Without it, i am not sure where i'd be.Which is why i am looking into getting a back up amazon.

They require you to buy postage from them at $0.17 more for that coverage. Been that way for a couple years now.
