does refunding due to package lost hurt selling metric
 
The shipping package was lost by FedEx, I went ahead and refund the full amount for customers. Does it count against my metric?

I believe if you do a manual refund it does count against it.
You should call seller support and confirm this.

I'm guessing you ship the items yourself?

yes, it was seller fulfillment , the FedEx shipping status keep pending for a week now.

Did you give the refund as a refund or an adjustment refund?

Here's a trick I see some sellers doing, when they give a refund they put the action as an adjustment. I believe this makes it not hurt your metrics. Some sellers push it for orders they wish to cancel they mark the item as shipped then give a general adjustment for the full amount. From Amazon metrics perspective the order was shipped (not canceled) and given an adjustment.

From my experience one of the biggest hits are cancelled orders.

Refunding in cases like this does not cause alarms.
