Amazon test charge

Two questions.

On a new account amazon make a £1 test charge, but i notice another charge has now been added for a small amount (17p?) to settle the balance on a amazon payment account. Is this a new thing or have i signed up for something different???

Secondly, when an account is limited/suspended is the test £1.00 charge removed? I have old bank accounts showing available balance that's less £1 than my total suggesting these relate to old Amazon accounts with a test charge still holding?

If the test charge remains on a suspended account 30+ days after the account is suspended, file a dispute with your bank.

You'll get your money back and Amazon will get hit with a chargeback fee. Teach them not to steal.

If you abuse this with your Bank though,.... there's a likeliness they'll boot you too.

So use it wisely.

IDK if it's different for other countries, but in the USA I liberally use chargebacks and I've never had an issue.

I don't chargeback unless the charge is illegitimate or the merchant refuses to work with me. Obviously if you're chargebacking every other charge you're going to have issues.....

That's totally normal they do test charge £1 which always remain pending to check if your card is valid

Once card accepted then do charge small amount 16p or 17p this will be taken from your account

Seems all good that £1 Will come back to your account in few days

They regularly charge people 40 dollars for the pro merchant fee while denying their seller account and not allowing them to list or sell on Amazon. They're literally stealing money from people for a service they refuse to provide.

When they do that, the only proper course of action is to issue a chargeback on every false charge they issue.

Very true...

What makes things worse is if they deny registration AFTER charging you $39.99, once you request a refund for these fees, they'll only send you the cash back via the bank account you added initially.

And this is if they bother to reply to your email at all.

It's point blank theft. I once had an account that was denied at the start (never got a chance to list a single item]. They kept charging me 39.99 for MONTHS after. Finally I called my bank (after issuing many many chargebacks] and just requested they cancel the card and send me a brand new card with new number, new exp date, etc. That fixed the issue.

But the fact that I had to go through that to get rid of a charge that NEVER should have occurred is ridiculous.
