Depends on the country and what license it is but generally no. I believe it may be different for the UK but dont take my word on it.

For Amazon US / Canada they don't seem to be verifying ID against a national database for validity. Im sure they could but this would cost Amazon additional money, time and manpower to investigate further so they deemed it uneconomical to do so.

Well, if that the case it's really weird. Today i tried to create 2 Individual Accounts using the National Identify Docs that i usually buy from a seller ( I checked the Docs, the quality is the same as the ones i used to create accounts in the pass). After 10 minutes, i receive the email From Amazon:

"We were not able to verify the documents you provided. As a result, you may not sell on Amazon.com, Amazon.ca, and Amazon.com.mx.

We cannot give you more information about this matter, and we may not reply to further emails about this decision."

How did you guys get around this one?

I suspect two causes:

1) The docs are poor quality, have an obvious flaw that you are not noticing and Amazon is or the id does not follow proper encoding which Amazon is known to check now. Amazon checks Docs for security feature authenticity and if the barcodes are encoded properly. This means docs used in the past no longer work now as Amazon tightens their belt.

2) There are other issues with your account which is leaking you and Amazon is just giving that standard automated response that they cannot verify your documents instead. I suspect the first option though.

Documents can be verify if it's legit many 3rd party companies offer this such as netverify

Could be an error in the verification info, hard to know.

There is a higher fail rate these days for verification though

I'm trying to make a test account with the docs that has passed Amazon verify. Of course same Name, address, etc as the previous account just to see if it's the Docs problem or It's Amazon, I will update asap.

the account i'm testing is dead already, so it's no problem with linking

Update: The old docs worked. It seems that some of my new docs are messed up. Thank you very much Canadianleaf.

Google "Drivers license Check digit" or "National ID check digit".

i could not find any site that check the algorithm of the Dl. Only the sites from government which won't work with made up docs.

DL numbers are generated based on the DL info which can be examined for mistakes/errors. Read up on the AAMVA for more info.

Not that I know of...Im sure there is though.
