I just started registration Amazon seller account, not yet complete uploading documents, my card was charged $39. What was that for? Was that for monthly charge eventhough i'm not yet approved legally?

The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!
I just submitted ID and bank account statement. Review date takes 7 business days. Can i start selling now? Or need to wait? And let say i start selling and get payments will my account get banned and money lock up?

Am very new to the Amazon FBA
It's down to Amazon of they allow you to sell while they reviewing the documents
Most of time they don't allow to sell
Verification quite fast these days taking longer means bad news
THey put you on a professional selling account automatically it seems.
If anything, you should call in and ask them to make it an individual account and have them refund that $40 back to you.
Its a broken system.. If people keep complaining amazon should fix that
They shouldn't charge you pro seller fees until they accept your registration / verification
otherwise they charge you up front the $40 and if you fail verification, they only offer to send the $40 back to the bank account you added, rather than going back to the card

Seriously? That's unethical.
I believe there should be an option to not get charged for the pro plan and just stick with the individual plan right?
When I did this in January I remembered I had to REALLY look for that option and I ended up calling seller support to point me to the right link.
Heck, they even had trouble and just refunded me to my card
Yeah it sucks. Lots of money has been lost due to this.
Amazon probably designed it this way since they know stealth users aren't going to burn a bank account added to amazon just to withdraw $40. They could have easily made it so the fees go back to your card.
You can make an individual store which has no fees though, but the majority of the time you'll still need to go through verification
Right, what I meant is we don't need to go through the $40 plan while registering and just look for the option to do an individual plan so we won't get charged, correct?
But when you go from individual -> pro you'll end up most of the time have to go through verification again. This 2nd verification can also fail even if your initial individual verification passed.

I regret now not going professional first.. just had an approval on an individual account ugh!
edit,. Just upgraded it fine so far. Will list over the weekend.

I just signed up for an amazon seller individual account. I have read that I must attach a credit card to be able to list and sell on Amazon. The info is all my correct info. I do not have a credit card and I attached my debit card to the account and it said 0.01 will be taken out of my debit card account.
I did not know that I could not begin adding inventory and when I tried to add it says that I am awaiting approval. I did not know it was not instant. It further show that the 0.01 will not be taken out of my bank account/debit card until July 3rd.
What are the chances a debit card will work in place of a credit card?
Thanks in advance

In the UK debit cards work fine for adding to Amazon seller accounts. I can't imagine it would be any different in the US. Just ensure you have a sufficient balance at all times otherwise if a payment fails, it will get removed from the account.
