UK LTD Company Vs Sole Trader
 

HI, ive just been suspended from Amazon.co.uk.

i am looking to get back on,

i know after a certain turn over they ask for ID, Bank statements. but i can not remember if that is when they prompt/make you upgrade to a business account and if there is an option for 'sole trader'

if you are a sole trader im assuming the bank account statement you upload can just be in your personal name?

anyone recently got this this stage in their verification that can remember the options?

in the back end you can select, im a individual, im a business etc, but how long can you stay as 'individual' for and does 'sole trader' have a limit on turn over?

Amazon can and will ask for your documents at any time not just when you reach the £15k mark.

Yes there is an option for a sole trader account.

You will stay as an individual up to the point where Amazon believe you are acting as a business not an individual seller. If you're selling multiples of an item or new & sealed items then this will be pretty quick.

They normally ask for the doc when you reach 6k

Getting really confused.

I'm based in the UK and setup my Amazon stealth account as an individual.

Amazon are now requiring me to change to a Sole Trader or a Limited Company. Not sure which to choose.

If i register as a Sole Trader, the HMRC want my NI number which I don't have for the stealth account. I've found a way of creating dummy UTR numbers that have the check digit but surely this will bounce back on the account at some point? Has anyone actually done this? Does it work?

The other alternative is to create a Limited company, however that seems extreme and will probably mean changing my bank setup...

What is the correct way to go?!
