Amazon Registration Credit Card
 

Creating a new UK Amazon account. Going to add a credit card. The only option is the professional option at £30 a month. Do I need a card with £30 plus on it? or can I change the plan once registered and then when I have money in the account switch back to the professional plan?

You should be able to open the account as an individual

There's a way to make it individual off the start.
It IS well hidden though. AZ really made it so we all think we need to spend the money for the pro account.

My suggestion is to call seller support without giving them your info because you are "considering" to sign up as a seller and ask them where that option is.

if it says no fees, its an individual store

Thanks everyone. Yes figured it out. There was an option for a basic account, which I missed. I will upgrade once I have enough funds in the account. I assume if I had adequate funds on the card I could go pro account from the start?

The "basic account" you refer to is the individual account, these are designed for personal sellers not business. As soon as you start to do any kind of volume they will make you upgrade your account. It all depends on the items you are going to list and the quantities?

Elmo is correct. You can also downgrade immediately after registration.

Change of topic but related. Upload driving licence and utility bill. Now amazon are asking for a passport. Is this normal?

You need to tell them you don't have a passport. Unless you chose that option when opening the account? If so, tell them you must have made a mistake and selected the wrong option for photo ID.
