No more late message reply issues
One of the pains I've found from running multiple accounts is having to reply to emails within 24 hours even at the weekends, during holidays etc.... I'm not sure if this is well known or not but I though I'd share a neat little trick I've found.
So what I have started to do is set up auto responses in gmail and you can do this to just reply to your customers emails. What you need to do is as soon as you get an order is the following;
- go to the order page
- click on the customers name to send them a message
- copy the long email address at the top of the page (will be a bunch of random characters followed by the amazon domain)
- go into gmail and add this email address to your contacts
- go back to the main gmail page, click the little cog in the top right corner and click settings
- scroll right to the bottom where it says vacation responder
- turn this on, type a generic message (something along the lines of "this is an automatic confirmation that we've received your email. Please expect a response withing 2 working days.") and click "only send a response to people in my Contacts"
what this will do is send this response back to your customer so the message is marked as replied to on Amazon. Obviously you will still need to reply to the email if it warrants one but it will give you a bit more breathing space. You can also set this to reply to every email received if you want to reply to every customer not just buyers.
There's probably a much better way to set this up through a dedicated email program like outlook or thunderbird but this is quick and easy for anyone to set up.
