| ScottieBoi | 05-14-2018 10:10 AM | Tax Interview Question I've never used my SSN on Amazon, so I was going to use it for the tax interview. When I do the tax interview, I put my stealth info with my real SSN. At the bottom, it asks for me to "give consent to provide an electronic signature for my W-9". The way that it words "Under Penalty of Perjury, I Certify that....." before my electronic signature, is scary. If I use my social and stealth name/ address, are they gonna put that on a tax form? I definitely don't want to do anything that's gonna get me in trouble with the IRS. Do I just sign my real signature and assume that they Amazon won't read it? Thanks for the help |

Can you do that? This way, all the info, name, EIN, phone etc matches with IRS |

Re: Tax Interview Question You can just match it up with your name
If you previously used your name or SSN then your other option is an LLC where you can create a unique business name |
| ScottieBoi | 05-23-2018 09:58 AM | Re: Tax Interview Question I've never used my social, which is the whole point. My name was used on my account that was suspended years ago, but names are pretty universal. I've been trying to get a straight answer on this for a couple of weeks before I move forward. Simply put- I thought that you could use your SSN (if you haven't used it already) or EIN to verify. If this is not true, feel free to tell me. If it is true, which name do I use? This is the question |
Re: Tax Interview Question if you have not used your SSN then you can use it to register
but keep in mind you will be at risk because you previously did use your name, even though its universal like you say
the best option is an llc where you can create a unique name you for sure have not used before
if you get linked, it will often happen for selling same/similar items using the same/similar name. amazons linking algos are insane, I personally wouldn't risk any similarities |
| ScottieBoi | 06-26-2018 12:30 PM | Re: Tax Interview Question I'm back around to this. I got an LLC and finally an EIN. I am wondering about the address verification, firstly. There is a place in the tax interview for an address. I wanted to make sure that they didn't verify this. I got an out-of-state LLC. I'm scared to put an out of state address or my real address.
Also, still running into the signature. I would still have to sign a name. I'd hate to sign a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name for a tax form, but I'd hate to sign my real name as well. What is the process? |
| ScottieBoi | 06-26-2018 12:33 PM | Re: Tax Interview Question Also, it wants to know my LLC type- S Corporation, C Corporation or Partnership. It is none of these (I don't think). It is a single member LLC (a "disregarded entity"). Not sure what to put here, either |

So go for it. Just make sure that everything you do in this original account is safe and legit.
And for filing taxes, I highly recommend getting a CPA specially if your volume and costs are high enough. |

I don't see a reason to be afraid at all.
For amazon ghost accounts, that's where you put your alternate names. |
