Amazon complete newbie

Hi guys,

I want to try selling new, low value and low risk items on Amazon. I have not used that platform at all.

Should I have a company to sell on Amazon ? Do they want invoices from the supplier ? How do I pay my taxes, I'm not in the US ?

Thanks in advance.

Low risk goods should not flag the account for invoices

That is a good idea on how to get started on a new account!

Thanks. Any ideas for the other questions ?

Same principal as eBay. Just another platform thats all.

Taxes would be the same as you do on eBay.

Yes, most definitely. Amazon are renowned for asking for lots of documentation, including supplier invoices.

Is it worth trying ? Probably depends on the selling items but is Amazon really bigger than eBay, with a lot more users ?

It all comes down to niche. Some items i've found sell so much faster on ebay, but other items just work so much better on amazon.

There is no harm in trying, you have nothing to lose.

Ok. Thanks again.

Is it good idea to start as an Individual seller (without using company) and see what happens ? If things go well I will change to a Pro.

May I use Pro seller without company ? Will I loose my feedback when changing to Pro?

You wont lose anything when going Pro. You can start as an individual seller and upgrade to Pro when you feel you've got the gist of how it all works.

Good idea to start individual. Get the feel of things before moving up to Pro

If you sell 40 items or more a month, you get your money back in fees by going pro

Excuse me for asking again. When I am going Pro I will need my own company/business to continue selling ?

You can upgrade to pro from an individual seller, and remain a sole trader.

You can update to company information if you choose as well

You don't need to be a company to be a pro seller. The main difference is, if you sell in volume, you'll be saving money being on pro. If you dont sell much, then individual may work out better for you.

Is it better to start with used items and put stock photos in the listing ?

With Amazon, when you first begin, I would say stick to existing listings. Dont start your own product page. Existing listings will have description, images etc. already up, so you dont need to add anything.

You mean if you can use your Amazon account on the same computer as a Paypal/eBay account?

Yes, thats fine. Amazon have nothing to do with eBay/PayPal.
