I had a negative balance of around $600. What if I don't pay the amount to amazon. Can amazon take legal action.

They will send to collections and take whatever actions they can to collect this debt.

If you have a stealth address then this address will get collection letters and unwanted attention which cause you even more problems.

Pay it off.

just wanna know have you cleared the -ve balance..

I know how you created this much negative balance...i did this too. but in high doubt if amazon enquires about this.
