EIN Lookups
 

Regarding the EIN provided during a tax interview. How would Amazon verify the name? I have yet to find a single website that allows you to verify this. I found some but they did not even verify active EIN that I have used for close to 20 years...

Any ideas how they verify the EIN to name match ?

You can't verify the name attached to an EIN yourself.

You can only find out if it's VALID or not.

The IRS handles the name verification.

Ok, so to confirm, AMAZON can not verify the name, just that the EIN is valid, correct?

They'll still be able to see the business name that's attached to it.

Just not your personal name

None of the tools I've used or found do anything but verify the number is valid, however, AZ may have greater access than the average peep.

Saijin is probably correct. I've never had a problem myself unless they actually reported a number to the IRS and it got kicked back out by the IRS for mismatch.
