does refund shipping fee affect my metric?

i want to refund the customer the shipping fee after the package delivered but I'm afraid it will hurt my metric since it's also a kind of "refund" without customer request return. Can anyone help me on this?

A metric will be impacted I believe with any kind of refund, but I could be wrong

If you issue refund without customer using Return Request form, then, it will affect your metrics. Ask customers to use correct Return Request form so it won't affect your metrics. You just press authorise return request , and refund it as a customer to return.
