Does Amazon Call you When Opening Account?
 
I'm planning on opening a ghost account from abroad (non US citizen) using a friend's phone number. Does Amazon verifies accounts by calling that number? I'm asking because that friend's English is not that well and I'm afraid Amazon will act on that.

They send code by text or automatic call nothing to worry about it

I have experienced a phone call upon registration but its not that common

I would always keep the number associated with the Amazon account active, turned on and ready to take calls.

What you dont want is for Amazon to ever call to find the number is inactive or turned off. Is a red flag.

Correct, always keep your phone turned on, Amazon usually call you if your account health in poor state or when your account is under review. But they usually don't call you if your account is in good condition.

Yeah, initial text confirmation. Plus, later you will need the phone for 2 factor authentication.

They will not call when you open the account to say Hi.
