Problem with opening US account

Hi Guys,

Not sure if asking for consultation is allowed here, but I'm looking for someone experienced to help me with opening an Amazon US account. I'm an international seller and my current setup is LLC + Payoneer. Please note this is not a stealth account, everything is legit, however Amazon keeps asking to re-submit the documents.

Since I can't figure out whats wrong I'm willing to pay for the expert's time.

There are 2 service providers in the "account services" section who deal in Amazon documents. I don't think they do exactly what you need, but contacting those two sellers would probably be your best bet.

Do you have any experience in amazon ghost accounts ?

Just wondering because I think it's essential nowadays for you to know how at least as a back up for emergencies.

If you got payoneer and an LLC that is most of the work

The rest just involves getting your shop verified.

You can use your passport or driver license if you are registering a real shop

That's what I did. Amazon asked for passport/driving license and Bank statement. I provided them passport/driving and a statement from Payoneer. Both docs are as per Amazon requirements, but hey they love me so much they just keep asking to resubmit docs. :) There must be some kind of data mismatch or something else I've missed in the process.

So they rejected both documents ?

For passport simply take photo high quality if its real it shoild pass without any issue

For payoneer as its not proper bank worth sending different bank statment

Try changing the file extension as well to something else

If its PDF, go with JPEG etc

They rejected Payoneer statement only. I know for a fact other sellers got Payoneer statements accepted so I thought I'll have no issues as well. Turns out different. As for a different bank statement, I'm not based in US, hence I'd need to make a trip to open a bank account if I get it right?

Yeah it prolly wasnt your ID,payoneer bank statements are iffy with amazon even though they openly promote using payoneer on their site. But since when does amazon make sense.

Hmm... I believe there are still banks in USA that still allow a foreigner to open an account. My suggestion is to figure out the big 3-5 banks in the region you want to open and call them to inquire if they can do that for you without you being in USA.

Or ask someone you know to borrow a statement and save yourself the time.Alot of usa banks do allow foreigners to open accounts but at a requirement you show up at a branch in person.

And likely a US-based address for residential purposes if you are a foreigner and can make it in person.

As for bank statement, does it have to show customer transactions? In my case the bank account is new hence theres no transaction records.

SaiJin 09-20-2018 09:00 AM

Re: Problem with opening US account

If there's transactions, I think it'll show some history which is nice, but as long as it looks valid with all the info on it, you should be ok.

It does not have to show transactions

If you can get a certified/stamped letter from your bank confirming the account details of your amazon shop, that will give you the highest success rate

As Saijin mentioned, transactions may increase the credibility of the statement you submit, so it does not hurt as long as there are no mistakes in it

Re: Problem with opening US account

Okay, just to make sure Payoneer is the problem, has anybody here opened an Amz US account using bank statement Payoneer provides?

Beautiful 09-22-2018 11:26 AM

Re: Problem with opening US account

Payoneer isn't the issue with Amazon, I know many people that use it

You have to make sure all the info on the bank statement matches the info on the account though

Re: Problem with opening US account

I mainly use a normal bank account so I can't help you with Payoneer.

But the advices above are valid and these people know what they are talking about so definitely listen to them.
