Dirty Competitors

Does everyone deal with dirty chinese competitors. I always have at least 1 giving me problems on listings that are public listings open to all sellers.

Extremely annoying to worry about on high ranked listings. Anyone experiencing anything similar?

Everyone in lucrative markets deals with this issue - some people learn to compete/collaborate - many people fail :( Which market are you in Lucky100?

Just find another niche if its such a big deal.

In what way are they giving you problems?

Buying large amounts from everyone on the listing and returning as defective do they’re the only ones left

Also changing pictures to add an accessory no one has

Yeah, that's just being petty... all a part of the game unfortunately.

If they catch wind of what you're doing, which often times sellers within the same niche do, they'll just do the same to you.

That's actually a really smart strategy. You can't blame the other guy for wanting to get as many sales as possible, because you probably feel the same way about your store.

If you can't beat 'em join 'em. Maybe try looking for a unique accessory yourself?

its common and part of the business of selling online

you can report them or do the same to them as they do to you, but they will keep coming back

all you can do is have invoices ready to go, and additional stealth shops in case something happens

There would be no point. The seller would just change the picture/description back to what they want. I don’t have all day to change ASINS multiple times a day like smaller sellers can.

I’m just going to sell out and source different items

huh... its sad that they can do this, but that is pretty smart.

True - might be time to check out different items/niche then.

I have a way around not letting anyone list on your item.. totally cut off the hijackers. This has tripled my sales , exchange info for any working avs vcc for amazon. Or even just the first 8 digits of a card that works and has been tested to open amazon within the past 2 days.

Re: Dirty Competitors

Some competitor left me 4 negative feedback in a row on an Asin I sold 5 times. They tried opening A to Z claims but I refunded on time.

Another competitor (maybe the same one) left a negative + authenticity claim.

They used some 3rd party agency to leave these defects. Hundreds of sellers received messages promoting these services around November 5th. I'm sure other sellers on the forum received them too.

I really dislike the vicious environment on Amazon but the money makes it worth it I guess...

Frankly Amazon is one of the most hostile places to do biz. Many sellers have done dirty things and it's up to you if you wanna put up with it or not.

Amazon made their platform so these things can pass unfortunately

Re: Dirty Competitors

Yep I believe they purposely shaped this environment to incentive sellers to do more volume. There are other reasons but that's probably the main one.

More volume with FBA and/or cheaper prices and/or more products.
