I read an article yesterday about Amazon asking brands not to sell products themselves, but rather sell it to Amazon at wholesale price so that Amazon could then sell it to their customers at retail prices. Justification for that is that Amazon wanted to control selling prices on the platform and cause less "confusion" to the end-customer.
I can't wait to see if anything will come out of this anti-trust action in Germany. I hope they will be forced to change their malicious behavior against everyone. The motherf**ckers used 3rd party sellers to scale their operation and now they want to become Walmart online while cutting everyone off in that process.
Major brands are strong-armed and could give Amazon the middle finger and business will keep going. However, that is not the case with small to medium sized brands that could literally go broke if Amazon decides to drive them out. |
