Getting around gated ASIN
 

Was wondering, if Amazon gates an ASIN - could we make a new product listing for it with a new ASIN? Would they suspend me for doing so or would that be ok? Has anyone tried it?

The category isn't gated, just certain ASINs. I could figure a way to drive traffic to the new listing, just wondering if that's not against their policies.

Yeah if you get around the ASIN approval process by creating listings you'll get a suspension / notification from the pq department, and that will be very hard to recover from.

Your best and safest bet is to just get the approval for the specific item you want to sell, and then create a new listing for it if you choose to do so.

Brand approvals are very tough and be careful Amazon is very strict on invoices used. Have heard they call and as well keep a file of legitimate versions of invoices.

Its true, they are calling invoices more often than not these days.

I would like to know where you heard this information, from what kind of person?

and its really funny how people think amazon can call to supplier or manufacturer or whatever person and ask if someone buying from them legitimate.

where is the logic?

yeah is it even legal for amazon to call a wholesaler/distributor and ask for info about one of their customers?????

I work with several vendors that receive calls every day

Its very common these days for amazon to call your vendors of authenticity claims as well as for approvals

Sometimes they don't call but more often than not these days they are picking up the phone

and from what i see getting approval as a new account is harder than ever...they want an invoice...then "live images" whatever that means and now there is 3 thing they want "fda documents" etc.....

Yup exactly, they have been upping the requirements pretty consistently for the last year or so

Not sure if they call or not but funny thing is sometimes they approve me with the legit invoice for some brand and other times they refuse the invoice from the same distributor for some reason...
