Amazon credit card needed
 

Just was told that Amazon REQUIRES a credit card on any and all new seller accounts in order for you to be paid.

You can sign up with a debit card, yes. But to be paid, they want a fully functioning credit card.

Anyone have ways around this? or ideas for quick fix around this?

You can buy a VCC or use your own credit card that haven’t been used on amazon before

Can use another country real credit card on account that register on UK for example?

Debit should work just fine... Did you receive a delayed payment email due to charge card?

This is Mandoobi with Amazon Seller Support.

I wanted to follow up with you on the status of your case.

As discussed today, the reason for the funds not fully being transferred is due to there being a debit card on file. As of May of 2017, we had changed our policy to only allow credit cards on file as retrieving funds from sellers when the balance on the account. With that said once you apply a Credit card on file you will then receive your funds as normal.

Interesting to see it enforced. It’s been a policy for a while but I haven’t directly seen it enforced before. Chances are that is because most people use a CC

Best thing you can do is get a CC in your details and then use that on the account

Yeah that is interesting I've never even seen that request and my stores have debit cards on them.

But I can see why they would want a credit card on file to make sure they can charge the fees too it

Yep it makes sense. Maybe this is a one off or a new Amazon policy. Time will tell!

God I hope debit cards still work for disbursements...

We just have to wait and see. It’s possible that this is a one off, but in the next few weeks if there are more reports of it then it’s likely a new policy

My other accounts are working fine and dandy with debit cards with Visa or Mastercard.

I phoned in to seller support, and the guy said they have started to enforce it of late, and because it is not clear - and he said he had been vocal about this - there are a lot of people like myself wondering why the disbursements are not going through.

Took me five or six attempts to even find out what the problem was.

The first line monkeys kept telling me, oh, your disbursement was made for such and such amount on such and such a day...so, that's all there is.

Seriously...do they have trained monkeys working seller support first line response? They are idiotic.

Maybe its a tactic to squeeze out the gift cards that are being used under radar, as those will usually appear as debit.

I hope they don't enforce it, would be a huge PITA
