Never sold on amazon and fresh account

I remember trying to sell on amazon around 2010ish and the fees were pretty high since I was listing clothing so abandoned it and never looked back. But since my account is fresh and like to get my feet wet, what are some things I can start off with? I'm guessing clothing fees haven't changed much.

Just not sure what sells good as it seems amazon is more geared towards larger companies while ebay is for anyone.

Is manufacturing clothing items sell well on amazon? Non copyright items that is

all depends what your selling. if its non branded, then the prices needs to be attractive, the clothes need to be in demand etc.

This is more of a marketing question rather than if Amazon is the place to sell the items...

All depends on design/ price and of course the marketing of the product.

Feedback and reviews also go a long way

Good luck

Re: Never sold on amazon and fresh account

I see, so is there way to research small shops on amazon and see their feedback? Seems its not like ebay so was bit baffled how confusing it was . Like contacting seller is also very inconvenient on amazon. Maybe i'm just a newbie. I purchase lot on amazon so just crossed my mind that selling would a be a good shot.

As for the demand and price, seems I will put some research daily like 15-20 min as this isn't my ft gig but seems fun !

Some clothing may require approval or category approval now, but only way to know is to check it out for yourself

between amazon and ebay which do you think is more strict and easier to get cut for not performing? Seems amazon... ? And in terms of sales for the average person I'm thinking ebay gets more sales as amazon requires more research etc right?

Amazon is definitely more strict and you have much more aggressive competitors in some niches

Re: Never sold on amazon and fresh account

aggressive meaning, they will spy on you and contiously try to knock you out?

Yes, other sellers have some extremley nasty tactics and methods to take down a listing or even your account. Alot of these sellers are using stealth methods to achieve this.

Clothing goes well if you're asking about POD. And they don't need approvals mostly.
Some branded clothing may need approval first though.

A lot of branded clothing do need approval.

And amazon is getting tighter as we speak.

But there's always ways around it and the first step is making sure you master amazon ghost for SURE

Yeah it can be pretty cut throat. Only way to really know is for you to give it a try. Not all niches have aggressive competition

What do you mean POD? I was trying to just sell some shirts that have simple quotes and put my own artwork on there. But this can be tricky as I remember doing one for etsy that had a saying "I love it when my wife when she lets me go fishing" the "it when" and "when she lets me go fishing" is smaller letters so it looks like it says i love my wife. Several years back this was pretty big trend and you can fill in different words for fishing etc to cater certain niches. Apparently some soccermom trademarked this and couldn't sell it on etsy. So amazon being more strict seems like selling tees is more of a hassle. It's a shame cause I used to do full time screen printing and have all the professional equipment still and it's just sitting there. But one false move where you think its not copyrighted can hurt you..

So if you make your own design that's original.. still is pretty strict?

You may just need approval for clothing in that case if its your own design

POD = Print on Demand.
Since you have the equipment - i guess that's what you'll be doing.

And you should be good by selling quotes and unique designs.
Just make sure not to include branded stuff. Even like including "Fan or Marvel" into the title and etc. can get you into some trouble.

Re: Never sold on amazon and fresh account

So Print on demand is acceptable on amazon right? Although I like the process of making tees etc.. It's just too much time consuming and labor when your doing other stuff
