Closing a seller account
 

Would closing a seller account remove linkage potential?

Lets say you have an account with linkable info (SSN). You close the account.

You then open a new stealth account using the same SSN. Will amazon link to this "closed" account?

I would suspect that if the closed account was suspended previously that they would still keep that information on record and probably link to a new account.

What if the account was not suspended at time of closing? Would I be able to reuse info from this closed, non-suspended account in a new account? Or will they retain info and link the closed accounts info to the new account?

We don't - we have a pseudo-equivalent but it isn't a required form of ID

Also - would ASIN's listed / sold also be linkable to a "closed" account?

For example, say I have a stealth account and ive been selling on around 1000 ASINs. If I close this stealth account and start selling on many of the same ASINs would it cause linkage to this closed account?

Obviously not 100% sure..but if you had an account that was never suspended, that means it was in good standing..or at least not enough that they'd have cut you off. So I'd think if you closed the account and opened another later on down the line you'd be fine. Even if they linked, you are just not allowed to have 2 active at the same time, or a second if they take away your first. Since you're voluntarily removing the first, they'd probably be okay with the second.

Most people say it's like 10:1 or 20:1. Why close the stealth account if it's going well though?

It could be linked

One big reason you get linked with previously sold items is if you previously created the product pages, and then re-sold those same products on a new store

They seem to have more linking criteria on the creator of the page

Never, ever create my own product pages. I only sell on public listings. I sell thousands of different book asins and some random office, outdoor, and niche asins (all sold on public listings).

From my experience, no it does not remove the chance of potential linkage.

I had an account fully closed by Amazon and got it in writing aswell, A few weeks later another account got linked directly to it.
So, Amazon will deacticate the account but the personal data and info is still in their database.
